“Merry Christmas” Everyone! And may you have a Bountiful “New Year for 2009”. As a custom, we always celebrate yuletide season with joy Isn't it? and Christmas will never be as joyous without the colorful and bright twinkling “Christmas Lights” and smooth to the ear Carolings, Decorations and the most favorite....Food!!!... hehehe . Hmmm... Do you also celebrate happily Christmas and New Year? How do you celebrate holidays? Well, some may treat themselves to an enjoying vacation or its the best time for family reunions or they might spend it with their friends and there is a lot of ways to celebrate the good times.

I myself love holiday seasons l because I get to enjoy the noise, the food and a there's a lot of stuffs to do during these days. Every year, I always find something to enjoy most during Christmas. This Year, I took pictures of the Christmas Decors or Lights that I just passed by just within our community. I love taking pictures of them and hopefully you too would love it as well.

Our Local City Government initiated a “Belen Contest “ or a decoration where shows the Place where Jesus was born -” Manger” to be participated by all the local barangays and this would be the first time our community actively took part on the contest.

This would be our Belen looked like from the distance. Cute! Isnt it. I did not took other lights showing “Santa” Because it wont fit in the camera.. hahaha

The images made out from “Lanot” in our term (its part from coconut used to make native brooms) that portrays Mary, Joseph, the three martyr Kings, the Angel, sheeps and the holy child “Jesus” born in a manger. I find it very artistic and creative to create something like these.

This shows the dominant livelihood that our local residents used as a way of living that made us known even before – Fishing. Well I don't find it suitable to call us rich of seafood now since our sea is not as rich as before because there are already industrial buildings on the location and our folk fishermen seldom get a good catch these days. As they say, the water is not filthy at all. Sad to see it but thats true!

This is the theme of the decoration – I hope you would understand it. Well, it implies that all of us should work hard together for a better community. Hehe... that what it means.

This is one of our Local Parish – Fatima Parish in Basak, Mandaue City. It shows the Christmas lights at the grand entrance of the church.

This is how bright and colorful lights is with the Christmas tree. It was really bright and colorful

I hope you would appreciate as well the colorful Christmas =)
